This past December the Elders decided to launch a Capital Campaign to raise pledges for a two-year period, over-and-above regular contributions to the annual budget, in order to make much needed improvements to our facilities.
Share the Vision, Follow the Vision and now Continue the Vision, reflect what we are all about. Where there is no vision, the people perish. God has called us to a ministry and in faith we can continue to follow and serve Him through vision.

What is our need?
Look around! Our auditorium has been too dark and dimly lit for a very long time. The audio/visual equipment needs to be updated to improve the visual presentations and to keep our sound system working properly. The ladies’ restrooms are woefully inadequate and need to be improved and expanded. Except for a few swings and climbing bars, our children’s playground equipment is non-existent. We can do better for our young families.
Our objective is to win the lost to Jesus Christ. We can be more effective at doing that by making sure we take care of what God has provided. As we work to maintain and improve our buildings, we establish a positive presence in our community. You are a part of that!
What is our building plan?
Working with input from many of you, we have worked with MJC Architecture to formulate plans to address our needs. We are recommending renovation of the auditorium to include new and improved lighting, resurfacing the walls, remodeling the stage area to improve its utility and access, updating A/V equipment, new and expanded ladies’ restroom facilities, and the installation of modern, safe playground equipment. These long overdue improvements will serve us well as we strive to serve Christ through our many ministries here at Countryside.
What will these projects cost?
While the details are not yet completed pending final bids, professional estimates put the cost at $675,000, including architectural fees, furnishings and landscaping.

What is our financial plan?
Although we will need to borrow the funds to complete the construction, we will retire that loan in a timely manner through a Capital Campaign lasting two years. A Capital Campaign is funded by giving over-and-above annual ministry giving. This approach allows us to make the needed improvements while continuing our regular ministry activities.
What is expected of me?
Continue the Vision! Together, we are the church. You have a part that only you can provide. Pray about your part in God’s kingdom and ask what God might want to do through you. Learn about the projects and the ministries. Ask God to make a difference in your life through your financial involvement.
What should a Capital Campaign gift be?
“Not equal gifts, but equal sacrifice” is the theme that continues to describe our understanding of stewardship. This reflects the scriptural principle of proportional giving. Not everyone can give the same amount but everyone can make a sacrificial gift. This is a personal decision between you and God and each person can prayerfully determine their own gift to Continue the Vision.
What if we don't raise all the money?
For now the focus is on what God will do through us as we Continue the Vision. It’s not possible to determine the future course of action until our congregation responds with commitments. We will rejoice if the commitments will pay off the entire project within the two-year plan we have described. But if there remains some portion that is not covered, we will consider the alternatives and make further recommendations.

When will construction begin?
Following the commitments, we are on track to begin construction in May 2012 with completion in approximately 90 days.
What happens on March 4?
We will come together as a congregational family to share an evening of fellowship, food and information. You will be asked to Continue the Vision and to make a stewardship commitment as we seek God’s will in the life and ministry of Countryside.
